League Rules

  • Complete one assigned 500-piece puzzle per competition night. Your five fastest official times count; at least five results are required. The lowest combined time wins within each division.

  • Keep the same partner for official scoring. Solo or substitute attempts do not count. A puzzle attempted with a substitute cannot be made up.

  • Approved makeups depend on availability and must be completed by February 25 at 8 p.m.

  • You may study the box before starting, but may not handle pieces. Timing begins when you open the lid.

  • Stop after 90 minutes. Each remaining unconnected piece adds 10 seconds to your 90-minute score. Coordinator-confirmed missing pieces carry no penalty.

  • Each pair receives half a 6-foot table. Sorting trays, box-top holders, and timers are allowed within your assigned space.

  • The coordinator verifies and records all official results in person. Carefully bag and return every puzzle afterward.

  • Ties are decided by comparing fastest official times, then next-fastest times as needed.

The top five pairs in each division across both states will be recognized, with prizes for first, second, and third place. The winning state earns the Wisconsin vs. Colorado Traveling Trophy!

Bring gently used 300–1,000-piece puzzles for the included swap—and come help Colorado claim the win!
